The Friends are also holding a plant/flower sale that runs through May 26. Purchase a voucher at the branch to be redeemed at Comisky’s Greenhouses in Hightstown (just down the road from the branch). Flats of annuals and vegetables are $11.00/flat. 8” flowering baskets are $9.00, and 10” baskets are $13.00. Vouchers can be redeemed through May 28, 2017. All proceeds will benefit library programs.
The Friends would like to thank the community for their generosity in donating books and other media, as well as for their support of the book sale.
We will begin accepting donations on July 15, 2017 in anticipation of the autumn 2017 book sale.
Summer Reading Is Coming
The annual Summer Reading Program will kick off on Monday, June 26, 2017. Teens can sign up online through the MCLS Web site to log their reading. Children and adults can come into the branch to pick up a reading log and start reading right away. This year, we will not have a “registration week.” The reading program begins on Day 1.
We’ll have a calendar full of fun programs for kids, teens, and adults. Please join us for summer fun.
Twin Rivers has a diverse selection of books, magazines, newspapers, DVDs, audiobooks, and CDs for all ages. Let us help you find the book you’ve been dying to read or suggest something new from our shelves. If we don’t have an item available, we are happy to have it delivered from another branch.
Don’t forget you can also borrow digital items on your computer, phone, and tablet. Ask us for help finding books, movies, TV, music, and magazines through our virtual branch.
Internet and Technology
Free Internet access is available on all 7 of our public PCs. We also have Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Our staff are happy to help you with computer questions. You are welcome to bring your own device and connect to our free wireless service. We also have printers, a copier, and a scanner for document or image scanning.
Although we do not have individual private study rooms, we do have one room designated for quiet study (no talking, playing of media, or cell phone use permitted).
The best part of reading is discussing your favorite books with new friends. Join our book discussion group for casual discussion about popular reads. Our group meets one evening per month and the members choose the books they’d like to discuss.
We offer technology-based classes monthly to help you get comfortable and start to have fun with tech. Using our public computers, you can connect with others through social media like Facebook and Goodreads, create professional documents in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and more. Our goal is for you to feel good using technology, and we will take the time to help answer your questions.
Looking for information on a topic and finding yourself stumped? Our librarians can help you get answers, whether you are researching something historical or current.
We also provide a variety of programs for adults, from creative and upcycled craft programs to informative presentations on health topics and government benefit programs.
For Kids and Teens
Our children’s collection includes popular juvenile series, books for teens, picture and board books for the little ones, plus books on CD, children’s movies, and read-alongs. We also have children’s books in Spanish.
If you need assistance finding appropriate reading materials for your child, our youth services librarian can help you find great books.
Each month we have a variety of programs for children, such as story time, bilingual story time, and baby time. We also offer craft programs for children, tweens, and teens.
