Genealogical Resources

The Library subscribes to AncestryLibrary, an online genealogical research database. To use this database, see the reference desk at any one of our Branches.

At the Lawrence Headquarters, we have a Jerseyana and a local history collection, including the Trenton Times from 1883, Trenton city directories from 1845, historical County atlases, and other helpful resources.

If you are from out of the area and would like a copy of an obituary, it is best to write us (address: Lawrence Headquarters Branch, Reference Department, 2751 Brunswick Pike Lawrenceville, NJ 08648) and include an S.A.S.E. If you do not know when the obituary appeared, we will search three days of the paper. For other inquiries you can use our Ask a Librarian Form.
