Museum Passes available at Mercer County Libraries

Pass Use Guidelines

  • West Windsor’s American Museum of Natural History vouchers are one-time use, need not be returned, are not subject to late fees, can be used anytime after being picked up from the West Windsor Branch, and admit one person.
  • Mercer County Library System (MCLS) patrons in good standing, 18 years and older, may check out a museum pass with their valid MCLS card.
  • Passes may be reserved 90 days in advance online through the library’s website or in person at the owning branch (Hopewell, Lawrence or West Windsor). Be aware that the date of your reservation is the first day you may pick up the pass – please plan your museum visit accordingly.
  • Passes must be picked up and returned only to the owning branch (Hopewell, Lawrence or West Windsor).
  • Patrons may not check-out the same museum pass multiple times within a 40-day period.
  • Passes are checked out for a three-day loan period and are not renewable.
  • The fine for an overdue museum pass is $5 per day, with a maximum fine of $25. The charge for a lost museum pass is $10 plus any overdue fees and replacement costs.
  • If you fail to pick up passes twice in a 90-day period you will be blocked from reserving passes for 90 days.
  • If you reserve a pass and change your plans, you may cancel your reservation on our website.
  • Check the website of each museum before your visit to note current hours, special exhibits and information on public transit options.

Founded in 1812, the Academy of Natural Sciences is America's oldest natural history museum and is a world leader in biodiversity and environmental research. For nearly 200 years, the Academy has carried out its mission to encourage and cultivate the sciences, exploring the remarkable diversity of our natural world and sharing these discoveries with the public through innovative exhibits, publications and educational programming.

Parking: Available within the museum; enter at 81st Street between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue. The hours of operation are 8:00 a.m.—11:00 p.m.

The American Museum of Natural History is filled with exhibitions representing people and animals throughout the ages, the museum also has a planetarium and an IMAX theater, as well as special visiting exhibitions and plenty of places to eat and shop.

CMOM is an exciting destination for play, fun and learning-by-doing through theme based exhibits, hands-on activities, interactive programs and larger than life environments. CMOM helps young visitors discover New ideas and stretch their imaginations.

This museum showcases a variety of child-sized, interactive exhibits that youngsters from infant to ten-years-old can explore, play with, and learn from. Voted one of the Top 20 Children’s Museums in the country, the 22,000 square-foot Garden State Discovery Museum offers 20 exhibit areas that are designed to challenge a child's imagination and natural curiosity.

Alternate side of the street parking on Fifth Avenue and side streets is available. Discounted parking is offered at Impark and Sylvan Parking. Validate your parking ticket at the Membership Desk.

Experience the art of the 20th century and beyond at the internationally renowned Guggenheim. The landmark building, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, was restored for its 50th birthday in 2009. Visitors can experience special exhibitions of modern and contemporary art, performances and films, lectures by artists, and tours led by museum docents.

The Museum is closed on Thanksgiving Day, December 25th, and January 1st.

The Mütter Museum was founded in 1858 to educate future doctors about anatomy and human medical anomalies. Today the museum’s display of 20,000 provocative items is designed to give a beneath-the-surface perspective of what physicians study—and may not be appropriate for the very young or the squeamish.

Located in the heart of historic Philadelphia, the National Liberty Museum is dedicated to preserving America’s heritage of freedom by fostering good character, civic responsibility and respect for all people. The Museum includes 78 exhibits, 179 works of contemporary art, and stories of 2,000 heroes within eight expansive galleries and adjacent spaces.

The PAFA founded in 1805 is the oldest art museum and school in the nation and has been designated a National Historic Landmark. The collection is installed in a chronological and thematic format, exploring the history of American art from the 1760s to the present.
